Universities Description Pakistan Navy established Bahria Colleges at Islamabad and Karachi in the late eighties and early nineties. Building of colleges at Islamabad and Karachi was aimed at providing quality and uninterrupted education to the children of naval personnel on their transfer from one station to the other and in turn contribute at the national level to the cause of education. The two colleges have since then successfully catered to this need from the start of Naval children schooling up to the Intermediate level.
In order to continue with the national effort for helping Pakistan march gracefully into the twenty-first century it was considered expedient to set up Institutes at Islamabad and Karachi to offer graduate and postgraduate education facilities in Computer Science and Business Administration.
BIM&CS Islamabad & Karachi was established in 1995 to offer BBA and B Sc (Computer Science) Programmes and affiliated with the University of Peshawar.
Bahria Institutes of Management & Computer Science started offering MBA and M Sc (Computer Science) Programmes from the fall semester 1997.
Successfully operating on the semester system the Institutes have already held their first convocation for the first batch of Business Administration and Computer Science graduates and in further refinance upgraded its BBA and B Sc (Computer Science) Programmes to BBA (Hons) and BCS.
The Institute at Islamabad has moved into its own premises in November 1999 and also houses the administrative offices of the recently set up Bahria University. Providing for quality education in an excellent academic surrounding the Institutes have the benefit of a highly qualified Faculty augmented by utilizing visiting Faculty from public and private sector educational, financial and business institutions. In the brief period since their inception the Bahria Institutes have made a name for themselves and shall hopefully be providing additional specialized courses in both Business Administration and Computer Science. With the establishment of Bahria University, the institute plans to upgrade its programmes to encompass other fields of study
